Heartland Zen is a meditation practice group dedicated to the teachings of the founder of the Soto Zen tradition, Dogen Zenji, and to the expression of Buddhist principles through speech and action in the wider community.
Services begin with 30 minutes of sitting meditation, followed by a dharma talk, discussion and a vegetarian lunch. (SEE BELOW.)
The first Saturday of each month is devoted to introducing Zen teachings to those who are new to the practice. A review of the basics is always helpful and you don't need to be a beginner to attend these sessions.
SERVICES CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19.
We are encouraging everyone to reserve 11am Saturday as a time to continue our practice and join us for services using Zoom. Our first Zoom service was held on March 21, 2020.
An email invitation will be sent to everyone on the Heartland email list every Saturday morning at about 10:45. The service will begin at 11 with 30 minutes of meditation, followed by a talk and discussion. If you're not on the list and would like to be added, just respond using the Contact Page.
If you have questions or would like more information, send email to email@example.com or use the contact page.
